Registering creates your free aNewFN account, which is where your watchlists, portfolios, and the live-data declaration are kept.
You can look at prices without an account, but anything that has to be remembered from one visit to the next needs one: a watchlist, a portfolio, a canvas, the declaration that turns London prices live, and the ability to post or join a discussion. Registration is free and takes an email address and a password, or a Google sign-in. An email registration sends you a confirmation message, and the account opens once you have confirmed the address.
An aNewFN account is a login for this website. It is not a brokerage account: you deposit no money and no shares are held for you. Live London prices need one further step after registering, the free private-investor declaration on Feeds.
