Feeds is where you sign the free private-investor declaration that turns London share prices and Level 2 from delayed to live.
Stock exchanges charge professionals a great deal for real-time prices and give them to private investors cheaply or free, but only if they know which is which. The London Stock Exchange requires anyone receiving real-time data to declare that they are a private individual acting for themselves, not for a firm. Feeds is where you make that declaration. It is free; aNewFN reports your status to the exchange and does not sell the form or the information.
Until you sign, London quotes and the Level 2 book are delayed. Once you have signed, they are live, which is the difference between seeing where a share was a quarter of an hour ago and where you could deal now. The declaration applies to London. US shares on BATS are live Level 1 already and have no order book on this site, and the declaration does not change that.
Questions
Does the declaration cost anything?
No. It is free, and aNewFN does not sell the form or your information. It reports your private-investor status to the exchange, which is what the exchange requires.
Does it give me US Level 2?
No. There is no US order book on this site. The declaration makes London quotes and London Level 2 live.
