Messages
Messages are private conversations between you and one other member, for anything you would rather not say on the public board.
Not every exchange belongs in public. Asking someone about their experience with a broker, following up a post in more detail, or arranging something between two people is better done privately. Messages holds those conversations, each between you and one other member, visible only to the two of you. Replies continue the same conversation, and a new message is flagged in your notifications so you do not miss it.
A message is not a message-board thread and not a post; nobody else reads it.
