Public profile
A public profile is what other members see of you, or you of them: the name, a short bio, and the posts that member has written.
When a post or a thread is worth taking seriously, it helps to know who wrote it and what else they have said. A member's public profile gathers their name, their bio if they wrote one, and their posts, so you can judge their track record and interests. It does not show their portfolio unless they have chosen to share it with you, and it shows nothing private.
Anyone can read a public profile. You change the name, bio, and picture on your own through Edit profile on your account. Following a member from their profile keeps their later posts and shared lists in view.
