Password reset
Password reset emails you a one-time link for choosing a new password when you have forgotten the current one.
Entering your account's email address here sends you a message with a link that works once and opens a page for setting a new password, without needing the old one. That is why the email on your account has to be a real, confirmed address. If you are already signed in and simply want a new password, Change password does that instead.
