Level 2 Grid

Level 2 Grid is a five by five board of tiles you choose and drag into place, each showing the move, the bid and offer with their size, ten volume lines, and a small tick chart.

Opening one order book tells you about one share. The useful question is often which of several shares has size at the bid, size at the offer, or a one-sided book. Level 2 Grid is twenty five tiles, five across and five down. Click an empty tile and choose a share. Drag a tile to another place. Both the share and the place stay next time you open the page. The top line is the ticker, the market, the price change, and the percentage change. Under that, the bid and the offer are shown with the size at each written short, such as 10k, in place of the words bid and offer. Then ten lines on the bid and ten on the offer, one tick apart from the touch. A tick with no size is left blank, so a gap in the book stays visible. A line's length is that tick's volume relative to the largest line that has size, so a long line is where the size sits. A small tick chart of the last minute sits under the lines.

Click a filled tile to open the compact Level 2 for that share. The name at the top of that panel changes the share on the tile. The ticker on the tile still opens the full Level 2 page. Click a line, including a blank tick, to see the price, the volume, and the value on the bid and the offer at that step. The panel on the right lists shares other people have open on Level 2. Click one and then choose a tile on the board. Markets with no order book still show the bid and offer, and say so rather than drawing empty lines. Level 2 Desk is the full book for a few shares side by side; this grid is the scan.
